Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We needed to relay our front interlock, which was sloping toward the house and slowly falling apart. I reached out to several companies for quotes and had mediocre experiences with only a couple taking the job seriously.

A friend recently had Interlock Preps do their extensive landscaping, which looked fantastic and they said the customer service was superb.

We reached out and Firas came to take measurements and gave an estimate on the spot with a followup official quote. The price was competitive, but what sold us was his excellent communication and response times.

The work was completed in just a couple days (vs nearly a week as other companies quoted). Minimal disruption to our family and young kids. Great bonus.

Final product looks great including the additional scope for new stone for a pathway extension which looks even better than our refurbished interlock, but complements it beautifully.

We're looking at a larger backyard makeover in the next 1-2 years and will absolutely be returning to Firas & his team for the work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently had my backyard redone by **Interlock Preps**, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! From the very beginning, **Firas** (the owner) was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his work. He walked me through the entire process, offered great design suggestions, and made sure I was comfortable with every decision.

The attention to detail in the interlock work is incredible—the lines are clean, the layout is flawless, and the overall finish is stunning. It’s completely transformed my backyard into a space I love spending time in. Firas and his crew were punctual, respectful of my property, and left everything spotless when the job was done.

If you're looking for top-quality interlock work and a reliable team, I highly recommend Interlock Preps. You won’t be disappointed

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We extended our driveway and put some interlock in our backyard. Firas was patient and helpful when we decided what we wanted in our backyard (and was awesome when we changed our minds a few times!) and he always checked in with us to make sure the job was being done to our satisfaction.
Firas and his crew were an absolute pleasure to work with! Not only were they able to squeeze us in at the beginning of the summer, but the team finished the job in two days.
I would definitely recommend Interlock Preps to anyone, and will be using them in the future if we decide to add anything!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Firas and the Mo's did an absolutely phenomenal job on our driveway extension and adding a brand new step to the front porch. From the initial quote to the final touches, their professionalism and attention to detail stood out. They listened carefully to what we wanted, provided great design suggestions, and executed everything flawlessly.

The new extended driveway not only looks amazing but has made parking and access so much easier. And the new front steps? Total game changer — clean, sturdy, and beautifully done. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and they left the site spotless afterward.

Highly recommend Interlock Preps if you're looking for quality, reliability, and a team that takes real pride in their work. Couldn’t be happier!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was the last step of our major renovation project and was such a great experience! Firaz returned my call for a quote within 30 minutes and happened to already be in the neighborhood. We had a quote in 48 hours and the customer service was incredible. The pricing was very reasonable so we ended up adding quite a bit of scope, which needed an updated quote every time. Not a problem at all!

The work started quickly and was completed on time and at an incredible pace. We are very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very satisfied with the work. We had our front stairs and interlock pad redone and the final results were amazing. Firas was great at communicating and overall a pleasure to deal with. A step was loose after the final product was finished and it was promptly fixed within a day. Will definitely be calling them again for any future work.

About Interlock Preps

7 years experience. 7 years warranty

Hi, my name is Firas, and I’m the owner of Interlock Preps here in Ottawa. My journey began over ten years ago while I was still in university. At the time, my dad encouraged me to work for a friend of his who owned an interlocking company. What started as seasonal work quickly became a passion, and before long my dad pushed me to take the next step: “Why not start your own company?” That advice gave me the drive to launch Interlock Preps and begin building a reputation for quality.

Fast forward seven years, and today Interlock Preps has earned over 49 five-star Google reviews from happy clients across Ottawa. We are a rapidly growing company with bigger teams, allowing us to take on larger and more complex projects while never compromising on the care and craftsmanship that built our name.

What sets us apart is simple: quality. We believe in doing the job once and doing it right, ensuring every project is completed with precision and attention to detail that lasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does interlocking stone last in Ottawa and Ontario’s climate?

With proper installation and maintenance, interlocking stone can last 25 to 30 years or more, even with Ottawa’s tough freeze-thaw cycles. The key is hiring a professional interlock contractor in Ottawa who prepares a strong base and uses high-quality materials.

What is the best time of year to install interlocking in Ottawa?

The ideal time for interlock installation in Ottawa is spring through early fall when the ground is dry and temperatures are above freezing. This ensures proper compaction and curing of your interlock driveway, patio, or walkway.

How do I prevent weeds from growing between my interlock pavers?

Using polymeric sand during installation helps lock pavers together and significantly reduces weed growth. Many Ottawa homeowners also choose interlock sealing every few years to protect joints and keep patios and driveways weed-free.

Do interlock driveways and patios in Ottawa require sealing?

Yes. Sealing protects interlocking from stains, fading, and erosion caused by Ottawa’s weather. We recommend sealing your interlock driveway or patio every 3 to 5 years to extend its lifespan and keep it looking new.

How should I maintain interlock during Ottawa winters?

Interlock is winter-friendly, but we recommend using plastic shovels or snow blowers instead of metal blades to avoid scratches. Avoid rock salt when possible, and use sand or calcium-based de-icers to protect your interlock driveway and walkways from damage.

What kind of warranty does Interlock Preps offer?

We proudly back our work with a 7-year warranty on all interlock projects and a lifetime warranty on retaining walls. This gives Ottawa homeowners peace of mind knowing their investment is built to last and protected long-term.

What areas does Interlock Preps serve?

We proudly serve Ottawa and all surrounding communities, including Nepean, Vanier, Kanata, and South Keys. No matter where you’re located in the Ottawa area, our experienced interlock team is ready to help with your next project.
